Nick and his sister Corey actually babysat my daughter years ago, but we didn't even recognize each other until an hour into our meeting about wedding photography. It was really wonderful to photograph a wedding where I knew the entire family! And I loved the special touches and unconventional way they had planned their day. From walking down the aisle together to be married (Darcie's feminist side didn't want to be 'given'away) to having a friend who was ordained as a minister just so he could marry them. Light on the posed pictures, heavy on the feelings and joy. What a great day.
July 21st, The Trolley!
Last year I met Jen and she told me she was having a trolley for her wedding. I was so excited! My 1st trolley wedding. The trolley was beautiful and drove everyone around all day, the house to the church to Mount Gulian and then the reception. I actually rode with the bridal party so I could get fun street photos and capture the party inside. Now this is a way to travel!
July 20th
Traditional Chilian dancing, a classic car getaway, lots of the special touches that make a wedding stand out and reflected the personalities of Aidan and Kathy. The church was one of the most challenging I had shot at this year (low light and no flash allowed), but I ended up loving the quietness and romance of the ceremony photos.
