the knot 2007 best of weddings!

Whooho! I am so excited today. I Just heard that I've been selected as one of the "Best Photographers" for The Knot wedding magazine's Best of Weddings 2007 issue. I'm feeling really good about myself today and just want to say thank you to everyone who said great things about me! Allow me to brag a little bit and quote what my caption said:

"You'll find stylish edginess combined with romantic touches in Lori O'Toole's contemporary images. Shooting with a timeless quality, her attention to detail is unmatched, and bride's rave that "you won't even know she's there."

This was based on a survey the knot does with brides about their weddings. I didn't even know it existed, but I'll be really happy if you keep the praise coming!

June 16th at West Park Winery

West Park Winery is one of my favorite wedding venues and Nicole and Brian's wedding just kept the good vibes I have there coming. The skies were a beautiful bright blue and even a sunshower in the middle of the ceremony didn't stop the smiles and happiness everyone was feeling! Lulu, their French Bulldog, was a tail wagging flower girl and happily posed for pictures all day. Nicole and Brian were a joy to photograph and a big cheer to them for looking so gorgeous while standing on a not so thick piece of plywood in a dark cobwebbed barn. It's my favorite photo of the day and a new portfolio piece for me!

Michelle and Ross are so in love and were a really cool couple to work with on their wedding day. We started out at Ross's family farm. It's been in his family for 150 years and had some awesome old barns and vineyards that were a perfect backdrop for their photos. Then on to my first wedding at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. What a beautiful location!

Fun in the Grass. The tall grass at Silo Ridge Country Club in Amenia was a perfect setting for photos at Erin and John's wedding. I had photographed the maid of honor, Denise's, wedding last May, so i already knew half of the bridal party and knew they were up for anything. So out into the tall grass we headed!
